When organizing an event, finding the right venue can be one of the biggest parts of the process. After all, the date of your event, the number of attendees and your catering options are all going to depend on the event space you choose.
If your event is going to be taking place in Asheville, NC, downtown Asheville hotels make for a great option to find high-quality Asheville event space.
But knowing what to look for is important when it comes to choosing a venue that’s right for you. To help you on your search, here’s what to consider when searching for event space.
Location: Picking a location that is viable for most attendees is important. Metropolitan areas like downtown Asheville make for great choices.
Parking: Does the venue have a parking lot or parking nearby? If not, is there valet parking available? These are questions you’ll want to ask before booking a venue for your event.
Services/Amenities: Ask about what kind or special services and amenities a venue provides. Do they have a kitchen you can use? Enough chairs and tables? Is there a cleaning service?
Capacity: You don’t want to pick a venue that can’t accommodate all of your guests. So make sure you’re clear on a venue’s minimum and maximum capacities.
Insurance: Different venues may require varying degrees of insurance coverage to ride themselves of any liability. Be clear on a venue’s policy on this before booking and being charged more than expected.
Acoustics: If you’re going to be having speakers, presentations, or music at your event, you’ll want to make sure the acoustics of the room meet your needs. Also checking to see if the event space has speakers and microphones already set up is a wise move.
Cost: Obviously the cost of a venue is going to be a major factor in your final decision. Some places charge by the person while others will charge a flat fee for the time you have the event space booked. Just be clear on the payment policy for each venue you consider.
Flexibility: Look into the flexibility a venue offers in terms of available dates and their cancellation policy. Some event spaces are much more readily available than others and usually those places are easier to work with if you have to make any last-minute changes.
